Coming together is a beginning....what's in it for you?

Honest Teamwork. When I started to work in Corporate America I felt as though it was always me, me, me, trying to advance myself and seeing my co-workers doing the same. Hmmmm, at times there was a sense of community and "group meetings" -- but for the most part, there wasn't a gut feeling of having a team of staff members who genuinely wanted me to succeed, resulting in a very competitive atmosphere!

Some may agree to this feeling and others may not, if you've been in this similar situation I can tell you from experience that there are some companies that really do practice and value Teamwork. If you are in that type of working environment - High Five!!!  These companies do value collaborative work and it's not for the ones who strive to be the "shining stars" but for those who are passionate and practice the true value of "team success".

Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.

Henry Ford

When we start to think about how can we help the other person achieve success....that's when we ALL achieve success. It's a hard concept to practice as corporations continue to value only the ones who stand out and fend for themselves. I used to think this is the only way to achieve success in the workplace too BUT I'm grateful to have learned over the years that this is not how I want to advance in business. I am now a business partner in a company that has taught me an honest approach on achieving success with ethical standards and transparent business practices.

It is essential to build relationships with teammates, for their benefit, to start to help them work through their challenges and be willing to work alongside their efforts, to reach their goals. To inspire, to mentor and offer ways to improve the other members reach their highest potential is all a part of working together. By doing this simply, step by step, it also offers such a humbling experience and it allows one to achieve success, not only as a person but as a leader. It is not easy work, but it is the most rewarding from a personal and financial standpoint.

I am grateful for the mentors who I had in corporate America, but looking back, it was never about my success, it was always about their success. I have experienced many corporate challenges in my career before motherhood, and have to say that the most professionally rewarding for me, has been with my current partnership as a co-owner of a company that truly wants to help me and my family succeed with my business, as I help others to do the same.

Would love to hear why you work at your current job and how does it benefit you?

Cheers to your success and happiness!

What's on Your Plate Today?

How are your goals for the new year coming along? Are you on track or on a path that's slowing you down? Well, here's a great short video to help you get back on track and be the best that you can be. I encourage you to try this exercise, and you'll start to feel energized by simply switching the order in which you do your daily tasks.

If you're on track, Congratulations!!!!  You may already be doing this and not even realizing it, but for many, this is a very subtle, yet very effective approach. We all experience life's daily challenges, weather they are personal or professional and they will always be in front of you, the question is how will you approach them?

It's a new year! Make it a new habit, decide on this new attitude today and pat yourself on the back every time you eat that frog!!!

 What's on your plate today?

Cheers to your success and your health!

A Chance to Help Make a Difference....

I'll be the first to admit that about two years ago I was a clueless consumer and stuck in my old ways!

This video from Healthy Child Healthy World, is one of my favorites because it highlights a short story that resonates with many parents and home owners today. If a family member or someone you  know suffers from chronic illness like cancer, asthma, nervous disorders, birth defects, ADD, Central Nervous System (CNS) disorders that can range from headaches and dizziness to Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease and Alzheimer's Disease, please take a look at this video.

If you are already taking necessary precautions to maintain a healthier home environment, I encourage you to please share your practices and let's help each other to live inside a healthier home that is within your control. There are so many alternatives to healthier choices and so many wonderful solutions available to support healthy living and improve our quality of life just by changing some simple, everyday consumer habits!

Thank you Healthy Child Healthy World for this overview and appreciate how it shows us why scientists and doctors are discovering that there is a connection between our daily use of household chemicals and the increasing numbers over the last 20 years of children, household pets and loved ones who are suffering from long term, chronic health problems.

Let's start to look at what we choose to bring into our homes and begin changing some simple habits by educating, informing, and protecting our families, children and friends. Getting the facts is the first step!

To your healthy home and healthy habits!

UltraWellness Key #3: Is Your Inner Tube Making You Sick?

Unfortunately acid reflux affects millions of people in this country...are you one of them or do you know someone that does suffer from this discomfort? Here are some great tips to share and thanks to Mark Hyman who delivers a powerful message on why it is important to detoxify our homes and our bodies.

Trash Inc. The Secret Life of Garbage

This story captures so many points of interest and will inspire anyone who is a consumer. Every minute of this video is worth watching.  It is important to look at this reality based on facts, and as a mother and an Eco-friendly consumer, it clearly outlines a message to all of us and helps to understand the magnitude of a universal problem as it impacts our environment and our well-being.

Some key points which are most shocking to me are the endless amounts of garbage we produce, where it travels to and our current status of the world trash crisis. As you will see, there are both long-term initiatives and short-term initiatives being made towards improving this garbage crisis. A sense of urgency is a clear message too and we all know we can start on immediate initiatives to help prevent the growing amount of trash in our homes, particularly as consumers of everyday products.

As this video points out, there are many communities, some more than others around the world, that actively participate in recycling programs which is a huge positive step. It's also encouraging to see so many schools and universities that educate and practice environmental responsibility for our younger consumer generation.

Trash Inc. The Secret Life of Garbage

As many of us would agree, 20 years ago - A "Going Green" lifestyle change was not a common consumer concern or business practice. I am extremely proud of those few business' that started over 20 years ago with a vision and dedication to environmental concerns particularly with consumable products and have established a business model that continues to grow stronger every year!

Educating ourselves and learning how to be a responsible consumer is an important step in the right direction. You are always one choice away from making a change, so please make a smart step today towards having cleaner water and a safer environment. If you are already doing this, Thank You!

As we continue to learn more from each other, please share what is your trash strategy at home, community or in your current business/company? It would be great to exchange some ideas and comments below to help spread some good green practices!

To your health and success!
